Hello there! My name is Cian Kehoe.
I’m currently working as a Software Engineer at HubSpot. We have a great engineering blog if you’re interested in reading about some of the work we do.
Previously, I’ve worked as an intern for both HubSpot and the Walton Institute (formerly TSSG).
I’m a graduate of Dublin City University [2018-22]. I completed my undergraduate degree in what is now Computer Science - when we began our studies back in the seemingly exponentially distant year of 2018, the course was still named Computer Applications & Software Engineering (CASE). This is what I graduated in - it’s unique nowadays, probably a bit dated, but always “fun” to explain to people.
My final year capstone project Distillery, was a program transformation, optimization and analysis (profiling & benchmarking) system written primarily in Haskell. It applies transformations to functional programs with the aim of achieving superlinear improvements in performance. Planning to write a post about it some day soon!
Aside from the academics, a significant part of my time in university was spent involved in Redbrick, the computer networking student society. Over 4 years, I sat as Chairperson, SysAdmin, Vice-Chairperson, and Ordinary Member of the committee, learned an awful lot, and met some great people. This was also how a became an organiser at SISTEM, an Irish all-island tech conference “for students, by students”.
This to-be-somewhat-active blog is just a place to write about things I’m interested in, tech-related or not. I hope you enjoy whatever it is that ends up written here.
